Chimps Console each Other with Hugs and Kisses

Researchers are studying what they think are people's closest genetic relatives, the chimp. They found that when chimps are victims of aggression, that if a third chimp steps in to offer consolation, their stress is reduced. Usually that consolation took the form of a kiss or embrace. They thought that was particularly interesting because this behavior is rarely seen other than after a conflict. I really don't know what this has to do with anything in particular, they never did really say. But thing I am sure of, I am not related to any chimps. Maybe they are, but I am NOT.
