Destination Weddings

I know there is much planning that goes into a wedding. But one of the most important part is destination weddings. You want your wedding to be the most special of all and what could be better than being married in one of the wedding chapels at Karisma Hotels. The beautiful white sand beaches are just calling to you on the beautiful Riviera Maya.

They have thought of everything from the registration of the gifts you would like to the reception and wedding itself, of course. In addition to all the wedding details, they also have prepared for those who would like to go scuba diving for instance. Or perhaps you would enjoy just soaking in a milk bath and then an aromatic massage. Sounds wonderful doesn't it?

No Pain, No Gain

That is what they say. No pain, no gain when it comes to exercising sore joints. Just having a knee revision has given me a huge swollen knee and ankle and foot too. They tell me it can take weeks before the foot and ankle swelling go down but it can take as long as a year to get rid of the knee swelling.

I don't know how they expect you to bend your knee to a normal position when it is the size of a large cantelope. It is hard enough to get up and walk after sitting for just a short while. Friday they will work me over again. I've got weeks of this to look forward to.

Visitors

Our son-in-law and daughter are coming to visit tonight. We are looking forward to seeing them. They are also bringing their daughter and granddaughter so we will have a great visit. Holly, our little Boston Terrier, will be so excited to see everyone. Kaelyn is very active and so is Holly so it will be fun to see how they play together.

Physical Therapy

I had my second session of physical therapy today. The gal really gave my operated knee a real work out. She really massaged the tight thigh muscles until they were a lot more relaxed and I could do more exercises more easily. It isn't quite as hard to get around with the walker now. I also go up and down steps with a crutch. I always thought that looked scary but it isn't.

Short Hospital Stay

Well, for all the forewarnings they gave me about this knee surgery, I sure did have a short stay in the hospital. I know that is due to all the prayers for me before, during and after the surgery. The parts in my knee had all worked very loose and it was easy for the doctors to take them out and then put in the new ones. Now I am doing a lot of exercises and physical therapy to get going again. I had my first session this morning and it really loosened up my knee a lot already. I will be going at least twice a week for awhile until I can bend it 90 degrees or more.

Shelby the Dog

The boy next door has a birthday last week. He turned 13 years old. For his birthday, they got him the cutest little black puppy and he named her Shelby. It is so much fun to watch out the window. Jake runs and the little puppy bounces along right behind him no matter where he goes. He has her pretty well trained to follow him and sit beside him. He has 3 sisters too who love to play with the puppy so it was almost a gift to all of them but Jake is responsible for her care and potty training.

Chocolate Cake

I got chocolate cake for my birthday. Yum Yum. I had a great birthday, lots of cards, phone calls and a great lunch out at a local restaurant after church. We also got some delicious sweet watermelon, the first for this summer. It is really good. Birthdays can be so much fun. The older you get, the better birthdays get. They really do.
