Drunk Driver Kills Kids

A drunken driver, using his cell phone, lost control of his vehicle and plunged it into a rain-filled ditch where five young passengers died. Charges of intoxication manslaughter were being prepared against Chanton Jenkins, age 32 in Houston Texas. There was 9 1/2 feet of water in the ditch and the fast-moving water carried some of the bodies away. They are still looking for some of them. Their ages were 1, 3, 4, 7 and 11. The driver, another adult passenger and a 10 year old girl escaped after it entered the drainage ditch. The adult passenger said the driver, Jenkins, was the father of the children. How very sad.

Iowa Votes to Allow Gay Marriage

This is going to bring in an influx of people from other states to marry in Iowa. Their marriages will not be good in their own states, more than likely, so I don't know why they bother. It is a shame to Iowa, in my opinion, that they voted this in. It is my belief, as the Bible says, that marriage is between one man and one woman. It was Adam and Eve back in the beginning and I believe it was always meant to be. I have to answer to my God and they have to answer to him too. I wonder how they are going to explain themselves to him?

Jewelers

If you are a style conscious shopper, then you are particular about the jewelers you choose to purchase from. As a particular individual, I do not want to see everyone walking around in the same jewelry I am wearing. I know that one local store sells a lot of jewelry and it seems that everyone is wearing the same necklace these days. I would rather be different and have people notice my special beautiful sets of necklace and earrings. That is why this website is so outstanding. They do not sell in retail stores and they do a fabulous job of making each piece a work of art.

Flowers

We received a beautiful bouquet of all kinds of flowers today from our brother and sister-in-law. They live in Wisconsin and always send fresh flowers to enjoy in your home. They sent these because my husband is going to have some serious surgery next week. The flowers are just lovely and I took pictures of them and sent it to the on an email so they could see how they look. There are red roses, purple orchids, baby breath and several other yellow and green flowers that are so pretty. They should stay fresh for a long time.

Cancer Catscans

How much to you really know about catscans? I thought I knew as much as anyone but found out I don't. They give you stuff to drink that will light up your organs that would not normally show up on the scans. They said it slices your body, takes out the slice, looks at it and puts it back. Interesting, huh? I would like to be the operator who is looking at all that stuff.

Shower Chair

When I had my surgery, I wanted to take a shower so badly. However, I was feeling quite weak and had to have a lot of assistance. They brought in a shower chair and it was a real lifesaver. I was able to sit down and enjoy my shower without feeling faint. Since then I have found out about this wonderful online website that carries all kinds of medical assistant products and you can shop by the particular medical problem you have. For instance, you may need a blood pressure monitor. They have those and much much more. They have added new products since they first started too. Check them out for all your medical needs.

Hawaii - Earthquake

Did you hear they had a 5.0 earthquake on the big island of Hawaii? I guess they have a lot of them. I can remember taking a bus trip around the volcano area on Oahu when were there 9 years ago. Hawaii is such a beautiful place. My brother-in-law got to go there for the first time a couple of weeks ago. He flew in helicopters and took in all the site. They had a great time and he loved it. I knew he would. My husband just couldn't get over how beautiful and green it is there. My cousin spends at least a month there in the winter on Maui. I would enjoy going again if I had the chance.

Colon Cancer

Be sure to keep up on your regular colonoscopies as you never know. My husband had one Thursday and the doctor thought it was too early since his last one 4 years ago. However, they found colon cancer, a large tumor in the large colon. We have to wait 10 days to 2 weeks for the results of the biopsies and then it will be surgery. They tell us today colon cancer is very curable.

MRI for Back Problems

Tomorrow my husband is going to have an MRI because his sciatic nerve has really been bothering him. It hurts to sit on almost any chair but his recliner. It hurts to ride in the car farther than 5 miles. He has tried a number of various leg exercises and for awhile it seems to help but then it is right back again. He has already had x-rays of his back and had surgery 5 years ago on a ruptured disc. He is anxious to see what this MRI will show.

Weather or Not

We have three weather men and women with degrees on our local station and they are quite proud of the job they do. However, they really missed it this weekend. They said we would get anywhere from 6 to 12 inches of snow and I don't think we even got an inch. Not that we are complaining, mind you. We are very happy it missed us. We got just enough on the ground to cover it for a few hours and then it all melted away. That is one happy thing about snow in April and Spring.

CD Players

My brother told me he got me a present. It is a portable CD player. But not only that, he has made me some CD's of classical music I like so that I can listen to it while I am on the computer. My husband has never cared for classical music, but likes gospel and country music more. It will be very nice to have some good classical music I can listen to. I am looking forward to it.
