Fisherman Hooks Rusted Test Missile

In Florida, a commercial fisherman unveiled a curious catch when he returned from an expedition through the Gulf of Mexico this week. It was a corroded missile fired from an F-15 fighter jet. Now wouldn't that be something to pull in?

He hooked the missile about 50 miles off the Panhandle town of Panama City and kept it on his boat for 10 days. He had hoped to keep it as a souvenir, but took precautions because he didn't know if it was live. He kept it cool, he said by packing it in ice.

Later he found out it was a telemetry missile that carried no explosives which was a good thing. However, the MacDill Air Force Base Bomb Squad inspected and dismantled the missile after the fisherman returned to port on Monday.
