Save Water with Dual Flush

Water is a very important commodity in our world. Many places have run out of water so it is imperative that we try save all the water we can. By conserving water, we are also able to save quite a bit of money on our water bill, thus helping our budget in these tough economic times.

Cataract Surgery

Next week I am going to have cataract surgery on my left eye. I know it is a good thing to have done because it will help me see to read much better. It seems like I have to blink so much to make the print more clear when I read. They say it takes about 2 hours to get you ready for the surgery and about 2 minutes or less to do it. It isn't long and you are on your way home again.

Weather Delays

We tried to get out of town last Thursday to have a steak for a change. However, the snow was blowing and sticking to the highway making a real mess. It was downright dangerous. So we turned around after 3 miles and came back home and had Mexican in our home town. We had enchiladas and the meal was very good. Ate lots of chips and dip too and it was also good.

Mexican Food

I love Mexican Food. We stopped at Taco Tico this noon and had Taco Burgers. They are big and filling and we planned to go out to supper so didn't want to eat too much. They have great platters with rice and beans too. And I love their cherry empanadas and my husband likes the apple ones. We always get great food there and stop every chance we get.

Driving in the Fog

Driving in the Fog is not my cup of tea. We started out to supper out of town tonight and the fog was just thick. We decided it wasn't worth the danger of driving back home at night in fog that was that thick in the daytime already. So we headed back home and picked up some hot sandwiches uptown and ate them at home and watched television. Maybe tomorrow night will be better. I hope so.

Icy Roads

Last night we started out of town for supper at our favorite restaurant. We got three miles out of town and the snow was blowing across the highway. Not only that it was sticking to the highway. It was getting very slippery and you couldn't tell where the center line was. We decided quickly that the wisest thing to do was to head back home. So that is what we did. We went to the local Mexican restaurant and had enchiladas. They were good and we were satisfied and we saved ourselves a hazardous drive.

Valentine's Flowers

I bet with all the Holiday rush and New Years celebrations, you haven't calmed down long enough to realize that Valentines day is right around the corner. What are you going to get your one and only this year? Have you been thinking of some sort of jewelry? Perhaps the first thing that comes to your mind is chocolates. But believe it or not everyone does not like chocolate. And perhaps jewelry is too personal at the stage of your romance. So what do you do? Of course, flowers are the one item everyone loves to receive. And whether it is roses or a beautiful bouquet of mixed flowers, you just can't go wrong with flowers. Now the next thing I thought of was the expense. The Fog Comes on Little Cat Feet

Remember that poem you learned in school? Well, it is true. The fog has been rolling in for several days now and tonight it was very bad. We started out of town for a good steak supper only to turn around in town and head for the nearest Subway. It has really got us socked in good. I feel sorry for anyone who has to drive in this fog at night. It was bad enough in daylight. Maybe tomorrow will be better. With warmer temperatures and melting snow, the air is heavy with moisture and thus the fog.

I have been blessed with three new great grandsons within three weeks. Because of that I have taken so very many pictures on my camera and everyone in the family wants to see them. I found that all I would need to get is a wireless router and an SDHC capable camera. What could be easier? I would be happier and everyone in the family would get their photos and they would be happy with me. No more getting 2 or 3 month old pictures. Now I could get them out in plenty of time and quickly.

January Brings More Snow

Just when you think you have enough snow, it starts again. Got up this morning and went out to get the newspaper. It was fine then but now it is starting to snow. We wouldn't mind so much if we were staying home but we have to travel 30 miles to a doctor appointment. You never know how much black ice there will be on the roads. It pays to leave early and be cautious.

Free Virtual Sheet Music

Everyone who is interested in playing the piano is very interested in obtaining new piano sheet music. I know it has always been a favorite of mine to play new songs on the piano ever since my grandmother paid to have me take piano lessons in eighth grade.

There could be nothing better than obtaining free sheet music could there? In my opinion, checking out the Internet for free is a great way to add to your collection of sheet music. Then when you are asked to play a favorite for someone, you will have a large selection of sheet music to choose from.

One of the easiest ways I have found to increase my inventory of sheet music is through sheet music download. I have found that I can obtain sheet music for all skill levels. This is perfect for me as I am not an accomplished pianist but play more for my own enjoyment.

Grandpa and Grandson

This is a picture of one of our sons and his newest grandson. He is also our newest great grandson. We have three of them now within a couple weeks of each other. It is so much fun to hold the new babies. The best part is you don't have all the work connected to taking care of them and raising them. You can just enjoy them :0)

Hot Supper Tonight

I made a crockpot roast tonight in my new crockpot and it is so tender. I like to use onion salt and garlic salt in the water. I also brown the roast first, salting it with both salts on all sides and browning on all sides. Then into the crockpot and later add carrots, onions and potatoes. Yum Yum. It makes the best gravy and last time I saved enough for hot beef sandwiches. May do that again or just eat the leftover slices on buns. It is soooo good. Serve peaches for dessert and cold milk and you are all set for a delicious meal.

It is getting close to Valentines Day and men will be shopping for their girlfriends, significant other, fiancee, wife or even their Mom or another relative. They can't go wrong with cubic zirconia earrings as they are just gorgeous and looks so much like diamonds that you cannot tell them apart unless you are an expert. Pizza Ranch Tonight

With all this sub zero weather, we have been staying home a lot. I have been really brushing up on my cooking skills :0). But after a while it is nice to get out of the house. It doesn't matter how cold it is, it is good to eat out for a change. Tonight we are going to the Pizza Ranch where we will be treated to a large salad bar, many kinds of pizza, chicken noodle soup, broasted chicken with all the trimmings and a dessert pizza. Can't beat that.
