Drought is Over

Not only is the drought over in our State but it can't seem to quit raining.  It rains nearly every day.  There has even been water across the main Interstate causing traffic to detour.  Bridges have been washed out or collapsed and gravel roads are in poor condition in many places.  So many homes have been flooded.  Rivers are out of their banks in so many places.  We were so happy to see the rain after 2 years of drought but enough is enough now.

Weather Delays

We tried to get out of town last Thursday to have a steak for a change. However, the snow was blowing and sticking to the highway making a real mess. It was downright dangerous. So we turned around after 3 miles and came back home and had Mexican in our home town. We had enchiladas and the meal was very good. Ate lots of chips and dip too and it was also good.

Icy Roads

Last night we started out of town for supper at our favorite restaurant. We got three miles out of town and the snow was blowing across the highway. Not only that it was sticking to the highway. It was getting very slippery and you couldn't tell where the center line was. We decided quickly that the wisest thing to do was to head back home. So that is what we did. We went to the local Mexican restaurant and had enchiladas. They were good and we were satisfied and we saved ourselves a hazardous drive.
