Family on the Way

Oldest son and family on there way here. Going out to lunch and have a good visit. It is still sunny but they are talking rain. It looks like we may luck out and have the rain late tonight. However, they are talking really severe chances of storms tomorrow and Monday too. The whole USA is a mixture of storms. Snow out west seems funny since it is almost May 1.

Mexican Lunch

I stopped at Taco Bell after church.  I wanted to get something for lunch.  Decided on a stuffed grilled beef burrito.  It was huge.  I couldn't believe the size of it.  Much larger than Taco Johns.  It was very good.  I have also been seeing a pecan apple salad wrap advertised on TV at ARBY's so went there and got one of those for supper tonight.  I hope it is as good as it looks on television.  It is nice to have something different for a change.

Visitors

I rarely have visitors.  Today, however, my brother and his friend are coming over.  We are all going out to lunch.  I haven't done that for awhile.  It will be doubly enjoyable.  We're going out for Pizza and more at our favorite place in town.  They have a wonderful buffet and more than you could ever eat.  Sure looking forward to it.

Pizza for Lunch

My brother is coming over today.  We are going out to the Pizza Ranch for their delicious buffet.  He does not get over here much and really loves pizza.  I know he is really looking forward to it.  He usually eats too much and is full for the rest of the day. It is a beautiful sunny day.  It is only 55 now but supposed to get up to 70's so will be really nice.  Looking forward to a good visit with him.

Visitor

I had a visitor today. My daughter drove over to see me and spend the day. That is always great. We went to the nearby town and joined her twin sister for lunch. We had a great nice long visit. It is too bad everyone is that far apart that we can't do that more often. It was a cloudy day but the rain stopped overnight and roads dried off good so it was good driving for my daughter. It looks like the sun would like to come out now that it is almost sundown but I don't think it is going to make it.

Wash Day

Boy did I have a big load of towels. We have a commercial washer and dryer so they can handle really big loads. I couldn't believe all the towels but showers take a lot of them. Now I have a load of clothes in the washer. It's almost time for lunch so better get busy and see what's for lunch today. It is a gorgeous sunny day today but only 50 degrees so a bit cold outside.

Pets are Family

Our little Holly is just like one of the family. She has learned to "talk" to us when she wants something. She knows when it is lunch time and she gets half a slice of American cheese. So if you don't stop what you are doing and start getting lunch, she lets you know about it. If you ask her if she wants "cheese" she will bark and get all excited. Before that, she will just make little noises, letting you know she is ready to eat. She also lets you know when she wants to go out by standing by your chair and "talking" to you. If things are pressing, she will get really loud and then you know you better get going and let her out to do her duty.

Lunchtime with Family

Uncle Jake has joined his brother and family for lunch. They always have a good time together. It is nice that they live in the same town so they can see each other more. Family is important and it is fun to visit and enjoy a meal with them. The little ones are growing up so fast we can hardly believe it. I am glad at our age, that we are still around to enjoy them too.

Chocolate Cake

I got chocolate cake for my birthday. Yum Yum. I had a great birthday, lots of cards, phone calls and a great lunch out at a local restaurant after church. We also got some delicious sweet watermelon, the first for this summer. It is really good. Birthdays can be so much fun. The older you get, the better birthdays get. They really do.

Lunch - What will we have?

Is it going to be a sandwich, soup and crackers? Or is it going to be a sandwich, chips, a little handy pack of pudding, applesauce or fruit. The types of sandwiches are endless. We keep several kinds of deli meats - ham, turkey, and chicken in the house. Also a favorite mild cheddar cheese to slice off. Add some Miracle Whip, sandwich spread, or horshradish sauce and a bit of lettuce and there you go. Maybe today we'll have all beef hot dogs or even Polish Sausages for a change of pace. You never know from one day to the next but it is a great idea to have a variety on hand.

Lunch and Living

We went to lunch today with a dear friend I used to work with. We celebrated her 56th birthday a couple days late. But we had a great lunch and wonderful homemade pie you just can't beat. It was a beautiful day although very very windy. The frost must be out of the ground as the huge ponds of water have gone down in the fields and wind is helping to dry out everything. We still have some big piles of snow that have turned to ice and will take a little longer to get rid of but it is still March. Looks like March will come in like a lamb. Sure hope so.
