Gas Prices

Gas prices are really going up again. In my hometown, it is quite a lot higher than in the bigger towns. I filled up yesterday in the town where I go to church. I saved quite a bit per gallon. Then stopped at the Taco Johns connected to it. I brought home to grilled beef buritos that are each a meal in themselves. It was a beautiful warm day yesterday. Not quite so good today as rain this morning and wind warning all day.

Family Visit

After church today, I stopped in and had a nice visit with my brother. We have always been very close ever since we were kids. He gave me a bottle of Lipton's peach flavor tea. It is excellent. I think I will have to get some tomorrow when I go to the grocery store. While I was there a friend and her two little girls stopped in to visit him too. That was nice. It was a beautiful sunny day although the wind was cold.

Church

It is Sunday. It is a beautiful day today although it is only 30 degrees. It will warm up though as the sun is closer now and feels warm coming in the windows. We are anxious to get to church and enjoy a lively, musical service with good teaching. It is good to attend church regularly and get acquainted with other folks there. They become one big family and we all help each other in need and pray for each other when one needs prayer for sickness or other concerns. I hope everyone will attend the church of their choice today.

Fun at Church

Today was Vision Sunday at church today and they went over what we have done in the past and what we plan for this year. They set up the church in tables with coffee and donuts and hardhats. It was a lot of fun. The pastor had a great message excentuated by skits telling about each part of his teaching. It was very different and a great deal of fun. We really enjoy our church experience every Sunday though, not just on special events.

Chocolate Cake

I got chocolate cake for my birthday. Yum Yum. I had a great birthday, lots of cards, phone calls and a great lunch out at a local restaurant after church. We also got some delicious sweet watermelon, the first for this summer. It is really good. Birthdays can be so much fun. The older you get, the better birthdays get. They really do.

Art and Dance in Church

We had a seminar at church a couple of weeks about art and dance in church and I have to admit I was pretty sceptical but it turned out to be a very good thing. The Holy Spirit gives people ideas of something to draw and it has a meaning behind it. The colors they use each have a meaning and when the pictures are done, they tell what they meant to that person who drew it. And often there is someone in the church audience that the picture just speaks to and it is meant for them. Kind of hard to explain but it is really great.
