Adoption

Adopting children is such a wonderful way to give little children a new wonderful life. .  It is especially wonderful when they did not have the best months of the beginnings of their lives.  But now they are with a family who loves them very much and they won't remember the hard times they went through.  What a blessing that is.  They make a total now for me of 15 great grandchildren and another will be born in November making 16.  It is amazing to live to see so many of your great grandchildren and watch them grow up.  The oldest is 16 now already.

Cousins

I have quite a number of great grandchildren now.  It is fun to watch them grow up.  4 of them were born quite close to each other.  You can see in this picture 3 of them.  They really get along great.  I hope they always will.  The oldest have started Kindergarten now.  Time flies by so fast.  Next thing you know they are graduating and going to college.  It goes faster than you can imagine.

Fun for the Whole Family

What could be more fun for the whole family than a good safe trampoline?  They got theirs set up last week and the great grandchildren are busily playing on it.  The youngest hasn't been walking all that long but he is doing quite well.  He is really concentrating on the job of walking on the trampoline.  Now that he is walking, he is running, as well.  He has so much fun with his sister and brother.  I love to stop and see them because they come running with big hugs for me.

Children and Easter

We all know we celebrate Easter because Jesus died for us, rose again and is in Heaven interceding for us.  However, we also combine hunting for Easter eggs for the great grandchildren.  They get very excited.  We had a wonderful service at church and then a great dinner after.  Then the kids looked for the eggs.  Hid them in plain sight in the house.  It was a sunny day but too wet and cold outside to hide them outside.  The kids had a great time, as did we all.

Lunchtime

It is time for lunch and then time for a nap.  Their Mom always gives them very healthy food.  You can see by the picture that they are the picture of health.  They have good appetites.  My children were often kind of picky about what they wanted to eat.  But it seems mothers are able to get their little ones to eat more of a variety of foods that are good for them.  Fruits and veggies are always good for them.

Halloween

The great grandchildren came to see me.  There are some who live right here in town. It was so much fun to see them in their costumes.  I tried to have some fun with them.  I asked them if they were going to do a trick for me?  NO NO  CANDY was their cry.  I then asked if they would like something like an apple or perhaps a banana and they cried CANDY!!!!!  It was lots of fun to see them in their cute costumes.

Nap Time

When the great grandchildren play outside for hours on the farm, they are ready for a good nap. Here you see them zonked out from all the fresh air and sunshine.



They will have a good nap and then they will be back out running and playing again in no time at all. These little cousins have so much fun together and get along so well together.

Great Grandchildren are Growing

My, but my great grandchildren are growing up fast. They change so quickly. Kailyn will soon be going to PreSchool this fall. And the baby isn't a baby anymore. He's 5 months old already. These four little cousins have so much fun together. It reminds me of our kids and my sister and brother-in-laws kids. They were all around the same ages and had such good times together too.

Birthday Celebration and Easter

Saturday we had a combination Birthday party for our grandson who turned 26 and a delicious Easter dinner. Then it was a ball watching the great grandchildren open their Easter baskets. They paraded all around the house and it was fun to watch them enjoying themselves so much. With 2 two year olds and 2 four year olds, it was plenty noisy but its only a little while and enjoyed watching them. Great Grammy (me) was plenty tired by 4 o'clock so went home to take a nap:0). A great time was had by all.

Learning To Read

It seems it is never to early to start to learn to read. It is so cute to watch these great grandchildren reading a book. Big sister is reading to little brother and he is absorbed in what she is reading to him. It is cute to hear a 4 year old interpret a story from a book when they haven't yet learned to read. She is really sharp though and she will be an early reader, I am sure.

Parades

Parades are so much fun. I think when you are a child they are even more fun or the most fun of all.

Here you see two of our great grandsons watching the parade. It is a new experience for them. They are really excited. It is so much fun to see a parade through the eyes of a child. They get so excited. If we could only see things the way they see them, I think we would enjoy them even more.

Family Visit

Our granddaughter, her husband and two children came to visit this afternoon. Our daughter also stopped in and we kept her dog, Zoe, for her for a couple of hours. She is a pretty white Bishon and she is such a good little dog. The two great grandchildren were a delight. Little Kaelyn is going to be 4 in November and can she talk. It is amazing how clearly she talks and she comes up with amazing answers. Her little brother is growing up too so quickly. He is going to be 2 and a new baby brother or sister is on the way too. It was so much fun having them for a visit.

Fun Outside on a Hot Day

We have been having some really intense hot weather. Playing in water is always fun for children when it is hot outside. Here you see a couple of our great grandchildren having so much fun splashing and playing in the water. This is a unique plaything for small kids to play with when it is hot. Kids can have so much fun outside on hot days.

Grammy's Girl

What a great helper this little gal is for her Grammy. She loves to be cooking and baking with Grammy. It is such fun and making wonderful memories that will last her forever.

Once the meal is ready, they can take a few minutes to sit down and rest together. I remember good times with our grandchildren and now the next generation of great grandchildren are here. Time really flies.

Brothers

There is nothing quite as cute as watching two little ones together. These little brothers are 2 years apart. The older brother watches out for his little brother. He is saying "Mom, my brother fell asleep on me." It is so cute. These are just two of our cute little great grandchildren. We get such a kick out of their antics and just watching them is entertaining.

Let'sDance

Little children are so cute to watch. This is a picture of two of our great grandchildren. We call it "Let's Dance". They are almost the same age except for a few days. They get along so well together. It is fun to watch them at play. It is so nice they can grow up together. I am sure they will be close all their lives and that is great to see.

Facebook Photos

It is so much fun keeping up with our family on Facebook. I love to look through the albums when I am not busy posting. The great grandkids are growing up so fast. I am happy that we get to see 4 of them quite regularly now that they all live in Iowa and Minnesota instead of Texas. They post a lot of pictures so you can see their progress. They are even more fun than grandchildren I think. The grandchildren have all turned into adults.

Families

We had a family get together today out on a farm. It was hot and humid but the wind was good and kept you fairly cool. It got kind of cloudy too and that helped. We put our chairs under the shade of the apple tree and visited with a nephew and his wife from Indiana. They brought their daughter, her husband and 3 kids. The kids all have red hair. Cute. We had 4 great grandchildren there today, 4 grandchildren and 2 children. It was a huge crowd with every kind of food imaginable and soooo good. We are tired out, wind blown and ready to push back in the Lazy Boys and watch Cops and America's Most Wanted.

Grandchildren Grow So Fast

I can't believe how big our great grandchildren are getting already. Soon one will be 14 and the youngest are 6 months. The little ones are doing new things every day. It is amazing how they learn to talk and carry on a real conversation with you when they get over two years old. They really go through a multitude of stages, from sitting, to crawling, walking and talking and the next thing you know they are in school. It all goes too fast.

Easter

Just another week and it will be Easter already. That is when we celebrate our Lord and Savior's rise from the dead. He is in Heaven now interceding for those who have accepted him into their heart and repented of their sins. Heaven will be the most beautiful place we have ever seen, beyond the description of man. It is exciting to think about it if you are ready to go. We have lots of loved ones there waiting to greet us when we arrive one day. One of our daughters has invited us over for a wonderful dinner next weekend and we will get to enjoy the grandchildren and great grandchildren too. I know the youngest two boys have grown so much, it will be so much fun to see them in action.
