Sad Day

Yesterday was the 29th anniversary of the loss of our oldest daughter. She was only 28 and had a 4 year old daughter. It is too bad she couldn't have lived to see her grandchildren. They are growing up so fast too now, ages 13, 11 and 5. My brother lost his son on June 2 so that is a sad day for him. Our sister also lost her firstborn son so that is a sad thing to have in common and seems unusual.

Tired Out

It is a hard job playing all day. His grandpa and grammy have been staying with he and his sister for a couple of days and they have been playing with them and having a wonderful time. It looks like he is ready for nap and I bet grandpa and grammy may take a nap with him. Grandchildren are so much fun but it can be really tiring trying to keep up with their fast pace. They have so much energy to burn and we slow down as we age.

Facebook Photos

It is so much fun keeping up with our family on Facebook. I love to look through the albums when I am not busy posting. The great grandkids are growing up so fast. I am happy that we get to see 4 of them quite regularly now that they all live in Iowa and Minnesota instead of Texas. They post a lot of pictures so you can see their progress. They are even more fun than grandchildren I think. The grandchildren have all turned into adults.

Grandchildren Grow So Fast

I can't believe how big our great grandchildren are getting already. Soon one will be 14 and the youngest are 6 months. The little ones are doing new things every day. It is amazing how they learn to talk and carry on a real conversation with you when they get over two years old. They really go through a multitude of stages, from sitting, to crawling, walking and talking and the next thing you know they are in school. It all goes too fast.

Grandkids are Coming

The grandkids and great grandkids are coming with their folks in a little while. We are all going out to eat at our local Pizza Ranch. It will be so much fun to see the newest baby born December 5. We have a pending BIG snow storm headed right at us. I sure hope it doesn't ruin Christmas. Travel is going to be difficult if it snows for the next 3 days. They say we may get some just plain rain and that is even worse as it freezes to the branches of the trees and highlines and can cause branches and trees to fall and lights to go out. We are hoping it will only be snow. That is bad enough because they are talking 6-12 inches of snow along with high winds.

Grandchildren

The reason they call them grandchildren is because they are so grand. You can just love them up, play with them, have a good time and then send them home with their parents. You can spoil them rotten and then let the folks unspoil them the next week :0). We have 14 grandchildren and now we are expecting 2 more great grandchildren. Isn't that grand? We think so.

Bookworm

Doesn't our little great grandson look like he is ready to read his books? He is the neatest little guy. He has a personality like his dad's and can be so funny most of the time. He is rapidly learning all kinds of new things. And he is definitely a delight to his parents with his funny antics. Always smiling, he steals your heart away. Since we don't have all that responsibility of raising him, we can enjoy him more . Like they say, with grandchildren, you get to send them home with their parents.

Kids Do the Darndest Things

Our little great granddaughter is always exploring. She is very active and really gets around. I know she keeps her Mom hopping to keep up with her. Just wait till she is walking and running. I remember the days. They can climb almost anywhere and get into almost everything.

You really have to keep an eye on them and locks on the cupboards because nothing is more fun than pulling out all the pots and pans and playing with them. I think it is more fun to them than toys. Then if they can crawl fast or start walking, it is another challenge to keep up with them. The only time Mom gets rest is when they are napping. I think the little wheels in their brains are turning all the time to think of things to do and get into. It doesn't seem to matter how many toys they have, they will always be looking for something else to find to play with.
