Lots of Good Food
We sure had lots of good food today. Why does a person always eat too much just because it is there? I think it is because there are so many things we don't usually see except at this time of the year. Holidays are fattening, haha. I wish I had taken some containers along and brought home some leftovers. Everything was so good. New Years means chips and dips next and lots of football games.

Grandkids are Coming
The grandkids and great grandkids are coming with their folks in a little while. We are all going out to eat at our local Pizza Ranch. It will be so much fun to see the newest baby born December 5. We have a pending BIG snow storm headed right at us. I sure hope it doesn't ruin Christmas. Travel is going to be difficult if it snows for the next 3 days. They say we may get some just plain rain and that is even worse as it freezes to the branches of the trees and highlines and can cause branches and trees to fall and lights to go out. We are hoping it will only be snow. That is bad enough because they are talking 6-12 inches of snow along with high winds.
Make the Best Gravy Ever
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Club House. All opinions are 100% mine.
It is Winter in our State and at this time of the year, we love to have the oven on or the crockpot cooking. A big juicy beef roast is my favorite with lots of carrots and onions. But best of all, we look forward to that big bowl of mashed potatoes with a wonderful gravy to top them. However, that isn't always the case, because sometimes there is not enough meat juice and the gravy needs some help to be really tasty.
Christmas is almost here and it is always a worry as to whether the gravy is going to turn out just right. So why not take the stress out of making the gravy by using Club House Gravy Mix? It is so easy and you are able to watch a gravy tips video and see just how to make great gravy every time.
Your family will love it when you bring this delicious gravy to the table every time, full of flavor for them to enjoy. You will not have all that unnecessary stress of worrying whether the gravy is going to come out right or not. In addition, here is your opportunity for a newsletter sign-up and contest entry to win a Club House Gravy Gift Pack. Be sure to get your entry in now and watch the video so your gravy will be one of the highlights of your Christmas dinner. You must live in Canada to sign up.

Winter Snow Storms
Well, we are in for it again. I heard it is supposed to start snowing tonight and we should get about 3 inches of new snow by tomorrow. I just looked out the window and it is only 3:15 CST and it is snowing quite hard already. Not only that but they tell us a BIG winter snow storm is headed right at us. It could start on Wednesday and run to or through Saturday. Bah Humbug! That could really mess up Christmas plans for everyone.
I Want a Home Business
My husband and I have talked for a long time about starting our own business in our home. We have worked out for others for so many years. There have been times when snow storms made it almost impossible to get to work. Other times, so many people were ill, that our work doubled and made it very difficult for us to enjoy our jobs. We had to put in so many long tiring hours. Sometimes we even had to work weekends. A friend of ours just started a franchise business and he is discussing that with us. I think it would be good if we could get such a business that we could operate out of our home. We plan to search the Internet to see what is available. We could work at our own speed and work our own hours. It would be great to be our own boss and not have to depend on traveling to work every day. Besides that, we could have our weekends free to spend with our family going on picnics, to the beach and family reunions. With gas prices rising all the time, it has really gotten expensive to drive a distance to work also. It would save wear and tear both on our car and ourselves to be able to work at home. I know the kids would be glad to have Mom at home when they get home from school too.

Carlos O'Kellys Mexican Restaurant
Tonight our brother and sister-in-law should be pulling in with their pickup and trailer on their way to Arizona for several months. They live in Wisconsin and although we have had quite a bit of snow, they have had more. And it is colder there too and they are anxious to get to a warmer climate for awhile.
I wish we could do that too but I like being in my own home, own bed, own chair, etc. If it snows and blizzards, we are retired, so we can just watch it out the window and listen to the action on the police scanner.
We are thankful this Christmas that we have a new furnace and we are nice and warm. We will be meeting them and taking them out to our favorite restaurant for Mexican food. They look forward to this as it is their favorite too and there isn't a good Mexican restaurant where they live as yet.

Another Family Birthday
Today, my baby sister, turned 65 years of age. I can hardly believe it. My brother and I were quite a bit older when she was born. I can still see her as a little 2 year old running around the house. We used to love buying her stuffed toys for Christmas. One year we got her but cutest gray elephant and she was so scared of it, she cried. But she quickly got over that and we always remember her calling it an "elphanut". You don't forget those little things.

Sub Zero Weather
We are having dangerous wind chill weather here. It was -17 this morning and below zero most of the day. It is going to be dangerously cold again tonight. By noon tomorrow they say it may warm up to a few degrees above zero. We had another light snow which covered some freezing rain that made the streets very slippery. You must be careful driving. One gal slid right through an intersection. Luckily, there was no one coming or she could have had a bad accident.

Cold Wave and Wintry Mix
My husband says the weatherman never misses the bad stuff. He is right. They said we would get a wintry mix of some rain which would freeze instantly on everything. The roads are slick. Then we got about 1/2 inch of snow which was lucky as they had said 1-3" first and then changed it to 1". I ran some errands and was careful because the roads are very icy. Thought it would be a good idea to get extra milk and bread just in case. It was above zero when we got up this morning and here it is 3:15 CST and the outdoor thermometer shows zero already and going to get colder before the night is over.

Crockpot Cooking
Crock pot cooking is the easiest kind. I made a roast, potatoes, carrots and onion yesterday and it was so good. However, I think my 30 year old crock pot is on its last legs. I do a lot of blogging and also surveys and have earned enough points at one survey site to order a brand new crock pot free. It will have a removable insides which my old one doesn't have. It is just one piece. They ship fast so I should have it by the first of next week. I am excited about that.

New Great Grandchildren
Our daughter is a twin. She has twins, a boy and a girl who are grown and married now. Two years ago, her twins made her a double grandmother within the short space of 13 days. Now they have done it again. She became a double grandmother for the second time and this time 12 days apart. How exciting to have 4 grandchildren in 2 years, 3 boys and one girl. Children are a blessing from God.
Make Your Camera Wireless
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Eye-Fi. All opinions are 100% mine.
It is so much fun to take photos at all the birthdays and family gatherings. I also take so many photos with my camera on vacation. But then when it comes time to put them on my favorite website like Facebook, I can't find my USB cable. So what happens? The photos start building up and family and friends start asking me what happened on my vacation and where are the photos. Uncle Jim wants to see his birthday pictures and my face is red because I can't get them onto my computer to send to him. My brother is always asking me to upload some photos for him but where is that USB cable anyway? I have looked high and low for it.
Now an Eye-Fi card can change my life and yours if you have the same problems because it entirely wireless. Just watch this video and see what I mean. It is amazing.
Not only does it save time for you but it automatically organizes your photos by date and backs up your memories for you. It is so simple, with a wireless router and an SDHC capable camera you are in business. No more waiting to get your photos on your computer. No more people bugging you to see your photos. It is so simple.

Christmas Decorations
Our neighbors really decorated more than usual this year. They have two big white snowman and snow woman that blow up when they plug them in. They put all kinds of pretty lights around their deck. This year they added a bunch of blue lights too. They also have candy canes that are lit up and we can see them all through our living room window. It is really neat.

Snow Blower
It is that time again. My husband got out the snow blower. He had been wanting to get it started and it snowed overnight so this was his chance. He blew out the snow out of the drive, even though the landlord always does it for us. I think he just enjoyed being outside as it was really rather mild weather. Soon the snow stopped and the sun came out and melted it all off all the driveways. But now it is snowing and blowing too. Looks like it might just be a heavy flurry though.

Holly's Eye
Holly, our little Boston Terrier, rubbed her eye so hard about a month ago that she made it swell up. Looking at her, it gave the appearance of being blind in that eye. However, the Veterinarian said it was just swelling and gave her some antibiotics and another medicine to clear it up. But the worst part for her was that she had to wear one of those collars so she couldn't rub it more. She had a hard time eating with it on so we were continually taking it off and on for her. She could run down the steps to the garage but couldn't get back up them so off it would come again so she could go potty. We are really glad it is all healed up but she likes to wash her face and it is looking a little red near that eye again. I hope she doesn't make it swell again.
