Terrible Winter
This has been a terrible winter. It has been the coldest winter in over 20 years. Reminds me of the winters of the 70's and 80's. The wind chill temperatures have been way below zero. We finally got some temperatures during the daytime that are above zero. But today our high is about 27 and going downward and wind gusts up to 50 mph. We got a little freezing rain during the night which makes for slick highways and dangerous driving with the wind blowing so hard also. I know everyone here will be so happy to see Spring this year. We have had small batches of snow and a White Christmas and New Years too but it hasn't been too bad. Not as far as snow goes at least. It actually almost got to 40 a couple days and melted the snow down some, but it didn't last long enough.

White Christmas
We got our white Christmas. It is still white and very very cold. This is the coldest it has been in a few years. The last two winters spoiled us as they were so mild. This year is a whole different story. We have had dense fog too a couple times. The trees were covered with hoar frost and were just beautiful. It was very cold over New Year's but we got out and had fun anyway.

Christmas 2011
You know it is only 361 more days until Christmas and it will whiz by and be here before you know it. Even our kids are beginning to say now that it seems like we just celebrated a Christmas and here it was again. Time flies faster every day. Saturday will be the New Year 2011 and everyone wonders what it will bring. Except for the Bowl games and snacks and New Year's parties, it will be much the same as any other year. Some people will sleep in, others will be hung over and won't enjoy the next day as much. I wish everyone a wonderful 2011.

Lots of Good Food
We sure had lots of good food today. Why does a person always eat too much just because it is there? I think it is because there are so many things we don't usually see except at this time of the year. Holidays are fattening, haha. I wish I had taken some containers along and brought home some leftovers. Everything was so good. New Years means chips and dips next and lots of football games.
