Missing Holly
We sure do miss our little dog, Holly, since we had to put her to sleep. She had liver problems and other things. She was always there to help you clean up the crumbs you dropped on the floor. She loved her slice of American cheese at a certain time every morning and let you know if you forgot. It was funny too that if you fell asleep in your chair, she would stand by your chair and give a little bark to wake you up. It was fun to pretend you were asleep just to have her do that. It is too bad dogs don't live a healthy life for at least 50 years.

Boston Terrier Holly
Holly was the best little dog we have ever had. She was so kind and played with the little kids and big kids alike. She never once ever even acted like she might bite. You could take her food away from under her nose and she would wait till you gave it back. Now how many dogs will do that? We had her put to sleep yesterday due to health reasons and feel she is the last little dog we will ever have. We miss her.

Mail Time
We live in a mobilehome court and all our mailboxes are in one place. It is just far enough so I take the car, pick up the mail and often get a few groceries while I am out. Sometimes I take Holly along for the ride if it isn't too hot. She loves to go for a ride. The clouds are rolling in so thought I better get going and get the mail before the rain starts. The lawn is all mowed and trimmed and looks so nice. The neighbors are letting theirs go to seed from the looks of it.

Holly
Our little Boston Terrier, Holly, is feeling her age. She doesn't play much any more. She just wants to lay where it is cool and sleep. She eats good though and has a fat little belly. We sure hate to see her coming to the end of her life. She has been the best little dog we have ever had and we have had a lot of them.

Holly Eats Supper
Holly, our little Boston Terrier, can hardly wait for her supper.
She gets so excited when she sees me setting the table for our supper. She knows it will not be long and she will be getting something good to eat too. Here you see her with her dog food that we got especially to keep her healthy and well. She just loves it.

Boston Terriers
Boston Terriers are the most lovable and friendly dogs. I read the other day that if you are getting dog insurance, do not put in for watch dog insurance on a Boston Terrier. They are so friendly, most likely they will go along with the intruder. Our little Holly has been the best dog we have ever had. She hasn't been feeling the best and we sure hate to see her coming to the end of her life. She will no doubt be the last dog we will ever have.

Our Dog Holly
Our little dog, Holly, hasn't been feeling well. I am now cooking all her food. I am using holistic recipes for good health for her. She just loves everything I have made for her so far. I have even made her treats. It is extra work for it is worth it to improve her health. She is 12 years old now and we want to keep her around as long as possible. She is the best little dog we have ever had.

Holly's Sleeping
Our little Boston Terrier owns our home. All the comfortable chairs are hers and here she is relaxing in one of them. She has a little alarm clock built in though so that when it is lunch time, she automatically jumps up and starts kind of talking to us. She wants a piece of American cheese which she gets every day. And you better not forget it because she will bark and let you know what she wants. Whenever I go to the kitchen to start supper, she comes out of a dead sleep and runs out for me to let her outside to do her business. It is a real habit for her. It is so funny the habits they get used to and remember and they won't let you forget either.

It is Hot Again!

It is over 80 in the house and we have all the windows open. The problem is that there is not a whisper of a breeze outside. I decided I had it and shut all the windows and turned on the air conditioner. That's what we have it for and I want to use it. It won't take long and it will be livable in here again. Holly is panting something awful and she doesn't seem to take the heat like she did when she was younger. She is going to be 12 years old on the 25th. I hate to see her growing that old. But we are growing old with her :0)

Holly, our Boston Terrier
Well it is almost time for Holly's checkup at the Vet. She gets her nails trimmed and they check her over good. She will get her flea treatment too. First of the month, she gets her heartworm medicine. I need to give her a bath again soon. I also need to pick up her dog food. The kind I get is really good for keeping her teeth nice and clean. She has good teeth and that is important to their health. She will be 11 years old soon. She is the best dog we have ever had.

Air Conditioning

Finally we are giving the air conditioner a couple days rest. We had to put new insulation on the pipe going into the house. It turned out to be an easy job. My husband put some tie downs on it today to make sure it stays in place. I am sure it will assist the air conditioner too. The humidity has dropped but it is now up to 84 degrees so I suppose we will have to turn it on again soon. Our little dog, Holly, gets so warm. But she is stretched out on the floor now in front of the fan and she is content.

Heat Index
The heat index has got to be way over the top. It says here on my computer that it is 87 degrees but feels like 94. It feels like over 100 to me. I do not like the heat. You can dress warm when it is cold but you cannot undress enough to be decent when it is too hot. Our poor little dog, Holly, is panting and panting. She finally lays down and stretches out in front of the register and floor fan and cools down. She drinks lots of water which is really good too.

Boston Terriers
I think Boston Terriers must be one of the nicest dogs to own. They are so clean and quiet. They don't bark hardly at all unless they see a stranger out of the window. Our other little dog barked all the time so it was such a relief to get Holly and find that she seldom barks. At first we wondered if she could bark at all. She is all stretched out in one of her chairs (she owns the house) sound asleep.

Pets and Health Problems
Our little Boston Terrier, Holly, started scratching at her face and ears. She scratched so much her eye was swollen and her face was bloody on one side. We couldn't figure out what was wrong. In checking into it, we found that she had become allergic to her dog food. We changed dog food to a very healthy brand about 2years ago so we were surprised to learn she had become allergic to it. We changed back to a brand she had eaten for many years and her itching stopped and her face cleared up. She had to wear one of those collars for several weeks so she couldn't reach her face until the new dog good got through her system and she quit itching. She is a happy little dog again and happy to be rid of that collar.

Holly's Eye
Holly, our little Boston Terrier, rubbed her eye so hard about a month ago that she made it swell up. Looking at her, it gave the appearance of being blind in that eye. However, the Veterinarian said it was just swelling and gave her some antibiotics and another medicine to clear it up. But the worst part for her was that she had to wear one of those collars so she couldn't rub it more. She had a hard time eating with it on so we were continually taking it off and on for her. She could run down the steps to the garage but couldn't get back up them so off it would come again so she could go potty. We are really glad it is all healed up but she likes to wash her face and it is looking a little red near that eye again. I hope she doesn't make it swell again.

Boston Terriers
Boston terriers are very smart dogs. They are also very loving although they are not cuddly, as some dogs are. They love to lay so they touch you but they don't want you to pick them up and hold them on your lap. They want to eat anything you are eating too, which makes you feel really guilty but you know it isn't good for them. I keep a handful of our Holly's dog food in my hand, so if I eat a bit of cookie, I give her a piece of her dog good and she is quite content. It's funny how she can think her own dog food is a treat too. We sure love her, she is so good and well trained and would never even snip or bite at anyone, no matter what they do so she is wonderful around the grandchildren.

Cereals
What is your favorite cereal for breakfast or even for snacking during the day? Do you like to mix various cereals together? I have been trying that and find that I like it. By adding another cereal to shredded wheat mini wheats, it gives you a whole new cereal and you can add some crunch to it depending on what you use.
I like Oatmeal Crisp and I also have some Honeycomb and our little dog, Holly, thinks she has to help me eat my breakfast. I like to cut a banana up on top of it too and she likes a little piece of that now and then. She sits beside me and talks to me about the breakfast food, until I give her a little bit. Little bits satisfy her and she is happy and she gets to lick the bowl before it goes into the dishwasher. She looks forward to that.

Habits of Holly
Little Holly, our Boston Terrier, has her own little habits. She knows exactly when I am going to get my cereal poured and she waits patiently for a taste every now and then. When I have a hot cup of tea, she knows if I offer her a taste, that it is cool enough, otherwise she will back away if I say "hot". Every night, my husband gets his cup of Pepsi and a York mint patty and she knows if she climbs up onto his Lazy Boy foot rest that he will give her little bits of it. Once in a while I don't keep on top of it and run out of them and she is just lost. She looks at you as if to say, "where's the mint?" So I try real hard not to run out of them. She is so spoiled :0)

Holly's Bedtime
It is Holly's bedtime and since I am still working, she will come in and stand beside my chair and talk to me in her little dog language. Sometimes it takes awhile for me to catch on to what she wants but then I looked at the clock and it was bedtime. She knows. She will sometimes want to go to bed a half an hour early but I make her wait. She is all cuddled up in her comforter now and fast asleep until about 6:30 tomorrow morning. Sometimes she sleeps in but rarely. She is so much fun. She is the best dog we have ever had. She is a medium size (19 lbs) Boston Terrier.

Holly
My little dog Holly wants to play with her toy. She usually brings it to me about this time every night and I am busy posting tonight so it is hard to stop and play with her. She doesn't understand what is going on and just wants to play. I will have to stop and toss her toy for her a few times, then she will lay down and take a nap. It is a dog's life.
