New Neighbors

Our neighbors of many years have moved to a retirement apartment. We will surely miss them. She used to bring over several pieces of the best cake I have ever eaten and I would take them pie. I don't blame them for wanting to get away from the lawn mowing and snow moving. There comes a time in life when you just can't do it anymore. So we will be getting new neighbors in 2 weeks and wonder what they will be like.

Birthdays are Fun

Our little great granddaughter turned 2 on November 1. She had a neat Elmo cake. She got all kinds of presents. It looked like an early Christmas. It is so much fun to see the little ones enjoying their birthdays. Her little first cousin was able to join in the fun too. Being only a few days apart in age, they really have a good time together.

Birthday Girl

I am the birthday girl today. Well I am not exactly a girl anymore but you are as young as you feel. And I have always said, no matter how I age, my brain stays at 20 years. I am having a great birthday. Delicious cream filled chocolate cake came my way last night and we are nibbling away at it. Yum Yum Now we are off to a great steak dinner and I get mine FREE at this restaurant and you can't beat that at today's prices. Flowers arrived too this afternoon and do they smell good! Two beautiful red roses and a white carnation bouquet from my 2 sisters and brother. That was a really neat surprise. I hope you all enjoy your birthday as much as I am.

Baking Smells

My wife is baking the best chocolate cake today with chocolate chip frosting. It smells so good and tastes even better. She is also going to make some chocolate chip pecan cookies with coconut in them. I really like them better than just plain chocolate chip cookies. I'm not really much of a sweet eater but these are the best. and the whole house smells so good. You can smell it outside.
