Last Day of March

Well March came in like a lion and is going out like a lion. It is supposed to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb to be ideal but not this year. It is so cold again and more snow again. Not as bad as last time but bad enough. Makes the roads dangerous driving again.

Heat

Now we are having abnormally warm days. The snow is melting like crazy but the ground is frozen and it has nowhere to go. When you get up in the morning everything is a sheet of ice where the snow melted. Roads are treacherous and you better be careful on them. Lots of accidents. It is not a good thing with black ice.

Snow

Here comes the snow again and is it ever cold. I don't remember a Spring quite like this one. They say El Nino has got something to with it. We had such a mild winter thru December and then bam! All kinds of snow storms in January. It was bitter. I hope the flowers didn't freeze outlike they did a couple years ago but I'm not holding out much hope.

March Winds

The March winds are blowing and blowing and blowing. And we are having April showers in March. This is the most wierd weather for spring. Just when you think the snow is done it starts all over again. I wonder if the tulips will come up this year but they usually come up thru the snow and all. Just wish it would warm up. You can even see a little grass that looks like it is turning green.

Death

It would be my brother-in-law's birthday today, but he died last year of a massive heart attack. He wouldn't listen to his doctor and take his medicines like he should have. He also gained way too much weight and ate alot of junk food. Was borderline diabetic and didn't take care of that either. Was so stubborn that no one could tell him anything and now he's gone. We don't always like what our doctor says but it is better to pay attention than to ignore it and suffer the consequences.

V.A. Appointment

Time for my V.A. appointment to get my medications renewed. I can get them much cheaper thru the V.A. than thru our regular insurance. Also physicals and blood tests are all paid for and that is a good thing. I spent two years in Germany in the Army so I qualify. Two of my 4 brothers were also in the Army and went overseas and we all came home in one piece. My mother was praying for all of us.

Spring Break

It's time for Spring Break at the school and there are alot of kids in the neighborhood and it seems like they are all next door. They are having a ball playing in the huge piles of snow, building snow men, and sliding down the snow hills. Kids never seem to get cold like grownups. They can always have fun playing outside and they are dressed good and warm. I am glad to see that.

Anniversary

It's my brother's wedding anniversary today and they are having a big party with all the family. Their kids invited us to come along so we are going. The kids live out on a really nice acreage and have really fixed up the house and put an outdoor swimming pool in for all to swim in. There will be gobs of food and we will pig out for sure. It will be a fun time for everyone.

Barb's birthday

It's Barb's birthday today and she likes flowers best for her birthday and any celebration, for that matter. Her boys always get her alot of flowers and that is the best gift. We will all go out for supper tonight and celebrate with her. That will be fun and a favorite restaurant too. Makes me hungry thinking about it.

Hello March

Well March came in like a lion and left a real mess of things. Deep snow everywhere. Had to blow out the driveway because the landlord was so busy. He's usually right there but he must have something else to do first. He has a construction business and works inside as well as outside. He's a very busy man but a good one.
