Thunderheads

Those huge big thunderheads came up fast tonight. We left for the next town to go to supper. It didn't take long for them to overtake us but they split and went in opposite directions. We could see it pouring rain in the north and later in the south. They definitely don't need anymore in the south where all the flooding is and was. All we got was a sprinkle but we got nearly half an inch last night so that is plenty for now.

Storms, Winds, Tornadoes

They say the number of tornadoes is way over what it was last year. And it has blown away so many homes and left so many homeless. Those who do have a home left, don't have electricity or anything else. One little town was completely blown off the map. So many people are dead. It is so sad and the storms aren't over yet. It is going to snow any time now in Denver again. And it is 70+ there today. Unbelievable isn't it?

Midwest Awash After Heavy Storms

Storms have continued to drench the Midwest which is already enduring record floods that are reported to have killed at least 25 people. Meanwhile, a heatwave in southeastern states is also setting records and has been blamed for a similar death toll. States from Iowa to Texas have all been deluged, some suffering the aftermath of Tropical Storm Erin, followed by other heavy storm systems. More heavy rain is forecase in Illinois, prompting flood warnings.
