Cell Phone Danger?

You hear all kinds of things about cell phones these days? But we are wondering if they are safe in a car during a lightning storm. A couple weeks ago, a young man was electrocuted in his car during a lightning storm. My husband had always thought we were safe in the car because it is grounded by its four rubber tires. Is it possible that the lightning followed into the car to his cell phone? If it can do that in your home, why not in your car. I wish someone would look into this and see if it is possible. If it is, everyone with a cell phone in their car is in danger of a deadly lightning strike.

Thunderstorms

We just had a huge thunderstorm go through here. It sure scared Holly, our little Boston terrier. There was awful lot of lightning and thunder and we stayed away from all windows and doors. You do not want to be on the telephone then either. We unplugged our roof antenna booster. I also unplugged my computer as I sure would not want it to get hit. We got an inch of rain in about half an hour. Now the sun is starting to come out. The flowers needed watering, so now I don't need to do it.

Thunder and Lightning

It has been thundering and lightning every since last night. The rain is just pouring down. Sometimes the rain gauge has gone up 3/4 of an inch in just minutes. We are running over 2 1/2 inches already in a very short time. It got so dark awhile ago I turned on the lights. The wind is really blowing too. We have been under thunderstorm watches for some time. At least it is down to about 59 degrees so we aren't likely to be having any tornados and that is a very good thing as Iowa as been targeted today for those. It is scary.
