Snow and Wind

Overnight we got about 2" of light fluffy snow.  The winds are howling at 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45.  My daughter drives 15 miles to the next town.  She said it was a tough drive.  It is about 26 degrees so there won't be any melting going on.  The neighbor had to go to the doctor in another town and she said the snow is really blowing across the highway.  However, driving wasn't too bad.  It was supposed to let up by noon but now it sounds like it is an all day windy day.

First Car

It seems one of the first things a boy wants to do is drive the car.  It doesn't matter how young or old they are, they love to drive.  Here you see one of my little great grandsons taking a spin in his first car.  Wait another 12 years and he will probably have his permit and be driving a real car.  It doesn't take long for them to grow up.  They grow up way too fast it seems.

Car Wash

We went for a ride today on dusty country roads. When we got home our red car was full of heavy dust. I took it down to our new car wash. It does a wonderful job of cleaning the car both underneath and on top. Then it has big dryers that dry the car as you drive out. It is the best car was we have ever been to and I am sure glad they built it here. You can even wash a motorhome or semi in it.

Cell Phone Danger?

You hear all kinds of things about cell phones these days? But we are wondering if they are safe in a car during a lightning storm. A couple weeks ago, a young man was electrocuted in his car during a lightning storm. My husband had always thought we were safe in the car because it is grounded by its four rubber tires. Is it possible that the lightning followed into the car to his cell phone? If it can do that in your home, why not in your car. I wish someone would look into this and see if it is possible. If it is, everyone with a cell phone in their car is in danger of a deadly lightning strike.
