Missing my Husband
It has been 4 years since my husband left for Heaven. Sometimes it seems like yesterday and then again it seems like it has been forever. It is no fun at all losing the love of your life. We were married when I was 17 and he was 23. He went right into the Army and spent 18 months in Germany during the Korea Conflict. Then he came home and we raised 5 children and spent 21 years on an acreage raising feeder pigs too.

Cold Weather
My husband always hated the cold weather. He dreaded winters. He worked outside most of his life. I know he got very cold so much of his life that he just hated it. He is dead now so he doesn't have to suffer anymore of these cold winters. Last year wasn't so bad but this year is making up for it. It was -3 a bit ago and now is up to zero with wind chills that are dangerous. They say just 10 to 15 minutes outside with bare face or hands and you will have frostbite. Not a happy prospect. Good day to stay in and enjoy the warmth from the furnace.

One is Missing
We had a wonderful Christmas again this year. However, one was missing. My husband should have been there but he went to Heaven in September instead. I am sure he was having a wonderful time in Heaven with Jesus but we missed him. It takes a very long time to get over that great big void he left in our lives. Life goes on and sometimes it is almost as if he was never here. Then again, his absence is bigger than life.

My Dear Husband
My dear husband left me a little over 3 weeks ago for his home in Heaven. He hated winter and he won't have to go through another one. For that I am thankful. His birthday was Friday and he spent it with Jesus. I can't imagine what a wonderful birthday he had. I don't suppose he even knew it was his earthly birthday but there is so much about Heaven that we don't know so maybe he did.
I know he was greeted by 2 of his children and many brothers and sisters and parents and the grandparents he never got to meet. They were already gone when he was born so he never had the joy of having grandparents. We have 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren that had the privilege of being held by their grandpa before he went to Heaven. We are so thankful for our wonderful family.

Husband Sick
My husband has been sick now for at least a month. He has had so much nausea and they couldn't seem to find a cause. He spent two separate weeks in the hospital. They finally came up with the diagosis of congestive heart failure. He has all kinds of oxygen equipment now. We even have a tank in case the lights go out. It is a big help to have the County Nurse come in also to check on him.

Happy Birthday Honey
It is my husband's birthday tomorrow. I baked him a little Betty Crocker chocolate mini cake with lots of vanilla ice cream on top tonight. He said he thought I might forget his birthday. I asked him if I had ever forgotten his birthday in 83 years? He said no, but once his mother did. She had 12 kids and once remembered his birthday a month after it was past. Isn't that something? He really enjoys his birthday. And he really enjoys those little mini dessert cakes. Yum! What he doesn't know is that he has a whole bunch of birthday cards that came through the mail and I hid them for tomorrow. :0)

The Garage
While I was getting the mail, my husband took the blower and blew out all the dirt and leaves out of the garage. It sure looks nice now. We have a double length garage so you can drive two cars in. We got rid of our pickup so we have lots more room now for other things. It is so nice to have a garage attached to the house when it is bad weather. Then you don't have to carry in your groceries and purchases in the rain or snow. I sure do appreciate our garage.
