Funerals and Visitations

We have a visitation today for an Aunt. I don't have many left anymore. The funeral is tomorrow. We enjoy the visitations the most as it is like a family reunion. You have more time to visit with family members you haven't seen for some time. A lot of cousins will be there that I haven't seen in years. I am sure we will all look quite different to each other than we did 10 years ago and maybe more. It is a cloudy day again and hope it doesn't rain. We will pick up my brother to ride along with us to our home town.

Funeral

Wednesday we buried a very beloved brother and brother-in-law. He was 82 and had put up a good fight but his lungs and heart finally gave out. He had a great sense of humor and could keep you laughing. He was a feed salesman and a good one. Also raised hogs so he knew all about the feed business first hand. Was a farmer when he was young. We are all going to miss him a lot as he was one of a kind. God threw away the mold when he made him. He's in Heaven now walking streets of gold so we are happy for him.

30 Die in Bombing at Funeral in Pakistan

What a sad happening! A suicide bomber blew himself up at a funeral for a slain Shiite leader in northwest Pakistan. Thirty people were killed and more than 60 were wounded. Three other people were killed sectarian rioting sparked by the attack. Although no one claimed responsibility, the blast bore the hallmarks of Sunni extremists blamed for a string of other bloody strikes against Pakistan's Shiite minority in recent months.

Aunt's Funeral Today

Today is the funeral of one of my most favorite Aunts. Maybe that is because we both had a great love for good food and ice cream. We used to go and visit her and she would take us out to eat. The place where we ate always had many kinds of fresh pies. And you could get a half piece of pie because that was enough after a good noon meal. Both our favorite was cocoanut cream but we liked a lot of others too. She was 90 and the last time we visited her she took us to a new ice cream place where they had real cream ice cream and it was delicious. We will really miss her. She always had a big smile and was such a sweet person.
