Future FootballPlayer

Here is one of my little great grandsons.  He's gotten a new cap made like a football.  He is probably the next generation of football players.  His big brother looks like he could play football too.  If they get tall like their Dad, they will be great basketball players.  For now, they have a lot of fun playing with the football and basketball and also a soccer ball, so you never know. Time will tell.

Football

I didn't know there could be so many football games on a weekend. All day Saturday and Sunday, game after game. We found a site on the Internet that gives you all the NFL games for the weekend and you guess who is going to win. My husband has been having fun with that but it is getting harder to guess each week. It is FREE to play but they are giving cash to the people who can pick all the winners. Not much luck here though. :0)

Sunday Football

It was a great day of Sunday football for my husband as our oldest son and his 3 boys spent the afternoon with him watching football. Although they are fans of different teams, they still had a good time. They had Subway sandwiches and that was really good for them as we women were gone to a baby shower, eating all kinds of goodies too.

Sports, Sports and More Sports

Are you a sports fan? In this house, there is always a game on the television. Most of the time, it is several football games. Basketball is a big favorite too and now it is coming into World Series time. Our son-in-law loves to watch Golf but it isn't a big favorite of ours since we are not golfers. NASCAR is exciting and it seems like there are more different sports all the time. If you are a sports lover, you are bound to find more than one game on television to your liking. And now with HDTV, it is so clear and the sound is so good and color is beautiful. I thought it was good before but it is even better now. So if you like to watch sports, then this is a good place to come as there is usually a game on TV especially on the weekends.

Fall is in the Air

The nights are getting crisp and cold. School has started and the football games are going full blast. We have several nephews who are playing in different towns in various positions. Tonight it started raining lightly but became quite wet about the time the games were ready to start. It gets pretty cold and wet sitting on those hard bleachers watching them play. We are getting just about old enough now to want to stay inside where it is warm and dry and find out how they did on the nightly news. It seems like yesterday though that they were toddlers playing around at our house on visits and now they are young men.

Keyshawn Johnton To Retire

Keyshawn Johnson has caught the ball in the NFL for the last time. He retired Wednesday despite several offers to continue playing. He played a great game and talked one as well during an 11 year career. He said he wouldn't trade his career for anyones. The news conference was held on the University of Southern California campus where he starred before the New York Jets made him the first overall seletion in the l996 draft. He says he has done everything he wanted to do and just couldn't find one thing that could drive him back to playing football. He has agreed to a multiyear contract with ESPN and will appear on several telecasts, including pre-game shows on Sunday and Monday nights. He will probably do some radio work as well.

Shawn Moorehead to Play for US

Shawn Moorehead is going to play for the first US Team in World championship. He is a former Iowa boy and Iowa State footballer and he has been selected to play for the first United States team at the 2007 World championship of American Football.The tounament will be held in Kawasaki, Japan from July 7 - 15. It will be the third world championship staged by the international Federation of American Football. He is joined by Iowa State teammate Austin Flynn. They both finished their collegiate careers at Iowa State last fall. He was a three-year starter who finished his career with 126 tackles and a school record 19 sacks. He passed for 1,541 yards and 8 touchdowns as Iowa State's quarterback in 2003 and 2004. He's a great player.
