Are you a sports fan? In this house, there is always a game on the television. Most of the time, it is several football games. Basketball is a big favorite too and now it is coming into World Series time. Our son-in-law loves to watch Golf but it isn't a big favorite of ours since we are not golfers. NASCAR is exciting and it seems like there are more different sports all the time. If you are a sports lover, you are bound to find more than one game on television to your liking. And now with HDTV, it is so clear and the sound is so good and color is beautiful. I thought it was good before but it is even better now. So if you like to watch sports, then this is a good place to come as there is usually a game on TV especially on the weekends.

NASCAR Truck Series

Come on Kyle. There seems to be no stopping him. He won the O'Reilly 200 at Bristol, Tennessee and earned his third win in the Craftsman Truck Series. He endured four cautions and a red flag during the final 21 laps and was victorious by winning at the Bristol Motor Speedway. His combined victories in NASCAR"S three top series is 17 now. Mark Martin and Carl Edwards and Kyle are the only drivers to win in all three series there. Pretty exciting and a lot of fun to watch. And he did it driving a Toyota.

NASCAR

How many of you out there are NASCAR fans? It is pretty exciting isn't it? They have such exciting races. It is really scary to see some of those cars hit the wall and roll and you wonder if the driver is going to come out alive. But those cars have to be really built to protect them and their head gear as well. It is always a happy ending when the driver comes walking out from one of those fire crashes.

NASCAR at Dover

Kyle Busch revels in his role as NASCAR's villain. As the top driver, he enjoys his role so much more. He was simpleysensational again. He dominated the second half of the 400 mile race Sunday at Dover International Speedway and racing to his Spring Cup series best fourth win of the season. He has a total of 10 victories this season. He won for the third time in the last five Cup races. But watch the Joe Gibbs Racing driver. Although he didn't find himself in Victory Lane he's pretty close. Kyle Busch earned his fifth straight top three finish and has not finished outside the top 10 in any of the last seven races.

NASCAR Sprint Cup

Dale Earnhardt Inc.'s Menard is picking up speed. Paul Menard scored his best finish of this young Sprint Cup Series season on Sunday but that didn't matter so much. Priority No. 1 this year for the 27 year old was to improve upon his rookie season and he and his Dale Earnhhardt Inc. team have done that week after week after week. He said they had the best Cup car he had ever had of that race last month. Rven finishing seven laps off the pace after an accident, his point was made. What makes it enjoyable was that they had a top five car. Even though they didn't get the finish, it was a confidence builder.

NASCAR - Busch Wins third Straight

Busch won his third consecutive race on NASCAR's Nationwide Series and his first career road race win. He held off Marcos Ambrose by less than a second Sunday in the Corona Mexico 200.He said it was fun to be able to win on a road course because there is only certain guys that tend to be able to do it.This was Busch's27th career victory in NASCAR's top three series. He led for 22of 80 laps, second to Scott Pruett's 36. He passed Pruett on the 72nd of 80 laps to take the lead. It was really exciting. Pruett finished third, followedby Carl Edwards. Edwards is second in the standings, nine points behind Clint Bowyer, who finished sixth Sunday.

NASCAR Sprint Cup

Ignore that talk about Hendrick Motorsports slipping into the pack. Saturday changed that. Jimmie Johnson, the two-time reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup champion, gave Rick Hendrick's powerhouse team its first win of the year on Saturday night at Phoenix International Raceway. Johnson said "We're back". He said they had been working very hard to get back. He couldn't be more proud of the folks back at Hendrick Motorsports. This one wasn't secure for the No. 48 Chevrolet, despite leading a race high 120 laps on the mile oval, until crew chief Chad Knaus gambled on going this last 80 laps without stopping for gas. That did it for them because the others dashed in for a spash of gas to keep going.

NASCAR - McMurray Shines at Martinsville

Jamie McMurray is capable of rising to the occasion. There has been a shift of power among NASCAR's elite teams and owner Jack Roush really, really dislikes Toyota. Therefore, McMurray went into Martinsville under more scrutiny than any other driver. McMurray had to qualify on speed to make the race because he was knocked out of the top 35 and not insured a spot in Sunday's field. But he left nothing to chance with a flawless qualifying run that earned him the fifth starting spot. He was so excited about this race as he had been for a very long time. McMurray's season best eighth place finish rocketed him six spots in the standings, to 30th, and locks him into this weekend's race at Texas.

NASCAR Driver Jimmie Johnson

Jimmie Johnson, totally calm and cool, left the pre-race drivers' meeting Sunday afternoon flashing the peace sign at people wishing him luck. Two fingers - two straight championships. He became the first driver to win consecutive championships since Jeff Gordon in l997 and l998, wrapping up the title by finishing a trouble free seventh in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Matt Kenseth won the race. When it was over Jimmie and crew chief, Chad Knaus were already thinking about a third.

NASCAR - Biffle Wins

Greg Biffle celebrated after winning the Lifelock 400 on Sunday. But darkness finally ended the disaster at Kansas Speedway, where the Chase for the championship field imploded and the finish of Sunday's event was in question long after winner Greg Biffle crossed the finish line. Biffle scored his first win of the season by winning a race that was stopped twice for rain delays, was shortened 85 miles because of darkness, and ended under caution and saw six Chase drivers finish 29th or worse. But when it was all done, Biffle was the winner.

Chase Miller Chases His Dreams

Just when Chase Miller's NASCAR career looked pretty shaky, the situation took a dramatic turn for the better just a few days later during the Coca-Cola 600 race weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway. He had been released in May from Bobby Hamilton Racing, which was fielding trucks for him in the Craftsman Truck Series. But he ran into car owner Ray Evernham and he had been trying to get hold of Ray for two years. Ray told Miller we've got some opportunities and to get hold of him when he could. Miller, age 20, seized the moment and soon was at Dover, sitting on the pit box during the Busch race, listening and learning how Kasey Kahne and team director Mike Shiplett communicated during races. Miller got the nod to drive the No 9 Busch entry when the schedule reached a point when the Nextel Cup and Busch series were racing at separate venues.
