My Birthday
My birthday is Saturday. Some good friends from church are getting married that day. I am going to the wedding. Eleven years ago my best friend's daughter got married on my birthday. We went to the reception and it was just beautiful. The food was great and I felt like I had the biggest best birthday celebration ever. I am going to do that again this year. It will be so much fun. Another best friend, I grew up with, has the same birthday as mine but she is one year younger. It is a major big birthday for her and hope she has a wonderful birthday out in Colorado too.

Duesenberg Auto
Our little town is the home of the Duesenberg Auto. The Duesenberg brothers invented this car in their little shop on Main Street. I remember seeing their building when we moved here but it has since been torn down and replaced with a new building. The town, however, has not forgotten these famous men. Every year, about the 2nd weekend of July, they have Duesey Days. There is a car show, lots of food vendors, plenty of fun for the kids and a judging on Friday night to decide who will represent the town as Little Miss Duesey. Our 6 year old neighbor girl has applied and I hope she wins. I want to go tomorrow morning and see her in the Parade. More of my family will be there and we have a good shady place to sit where we can see everything very well. There is a band tonight and tomorrow night there will be a dance for the adults. A good time is always had by all.

Celebrations
It seems we go from one Holiday to another so quickly. We just had Good Friday and Easter and now the news is discussing Mother's Day. Then it will be lots of graduations and June brings many weddings. The 4th of July will be next and we are planning a big family reunion of two of our families that grew up together. Will have it July 3 so everyone can celebrate the 4th in their own way. Time goes so fast, you almost can't keep up with it anymore. Life is a vapor as the Bible says. Someone died yesterday in our State that was 114 years old and actually that is nothing compared to Eternity. Are you ready for Eternity?

Pope Leads Eco-friendly Festival
The Catholic Church has declared Sunday "Save Creation Day" as Pope Benedict joined about 300,000 young Roman Catholics for an eco-friendly festival. The youth festival is being held at the shrine of Loreto, in Italy. In his main homily, the Pope urged young Catholics to take better care of the planet and called for "courageous decisions" to safeguard creation.
