Time

Time is a precious commodity. It seems to just fly by the older you get. We have been so busy with doctor appointments since my husband had colon cancer surgery. I think we have 3-4 days tied up next week with various appointments. He is going to have another pre-op physical tomorrow. This is in preparation for another smaller surgery on Thursday. It will only take one day and then we should be done with hospitals for awhile but I suppose more doctor visits. They are good to have when you need them.

Hospitals

Hospitals are a great place to be when you are really sick. Our hospital in the neighboring town has excellent doctors and nurses. They have all the facilities for physical therapy too. My husband is in for a week with major surgery and so far he has had a great bunch of nurses and helpers. It helps you get better faster when you have good care.

Hospitals

Hospitals are a good place to be when you need them. But they are no place to try and get any rest. They give you a sleeping pill and then they wake you up every 3 or 4 hours to give you a pill or take your blood pressure or something. Our brother-in-law has been in the hospital now for nearly 3 weeks and he is totally worn out. He wants to go home so he can catch up on his rest. When we tried to visit with him he kept falling asleep and said he was awakened so many times during the night, he felt like he had not had any sleep yet. I hope he gets well soon and is able to get out of there and go home.
