Rain, Harvesting and Semi Driving

My brother called from the cornfield this morning. He is driving semi and delivering corn from the field to the various elevators closest to the harvested fields. It has been raining quite hard here where we are but he was about 25 miles NE and he said it was dry there. I hope it stayed dry so they could keep bringing in the corn. They have at least 2 weeks more to do and then they are done till next year.

Holly's Throid

Holly, our little dog, started breaking out in spots all over her back mainly and a few on her sides. We took her to the Vet on Friday and he took some blood and we found out that she has low thyroid. She has to take half a itty bitty little pill every day for it from now on.She also has to take half another pill daily to clear up the spots. She lost her hair where the spots are and it isn't growing back. That is how they found out about her thyroid. If you have a dog for a pet long enough, as they age, they come up with all kinds of ailments just like people do.

US Imposes New Sanctions on Iran

The US government has designated an elite unit of Iran's Islamic revolution Guards Corps a "supporter of terrorism" as part of a new round of sanctions. The Guards have been labeled as a proliferator of weapons of mass destruction, a reference to ballistic missiles they are allegedly developing. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice made the announcement alongside Treasurey Secretary Henry Paulson. The classification will allow the US to target the powerful force's finances.
