Thanksgiving Dinner

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year.  There was so much delicious food.  We played some really fun games and had so many laughs.  Of course, then it was time to bring out the cameras and take the pictures of all the families.  They always do a funny one too.  I never know what to do in that one. A granddaughter wanted a picture of her two grandmothers kissing her so that was different.  A good time was had by everyone.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Every year in our little town, a different church is chose to hold the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. I think that is great. You can go there and eat. Or if you would rather eat at home and watch a game, you can pick up your dinner. In addition, they will deliver to your home. That is really nice. Lots of ladies get together and prepare the turkey and all the fixings and you give a free will offering for your dinner. We are going to have ours delivered this years. We did that 2 years ago and it was just delicious.

Thanksgiving Day Traveling

I was just listening to the news. They say a lot less people are going to fly home this year for Thanksgiving. However, lots more are going to drive. So they are alerting people to be sure and be alert with many more cars on the road. Gas prices are also supposed to be dropping. So far one of our gas stations dropped their price one cent. That's no big deal, is it?

Holiday Dinner

It is that time of the year again. Time to plan those big Holiday dinners with all that wonderful food. I know Thanksgiving is just around the corner and turkey is the main dish. But what would dinner be like without those wonderful mashed potatoes and delicious turkey gravy? Our oldest son just loves Thanksgiving turkey gravy. I guess that is because turkey is usually a once a year meal.

Often people opt for Ham for Christmas or we have a new tradition and that is pot luck. It makes a wonderful Christmas meal because there are so many great dishes by so many great cooks. Come New Years everyone will have to go on that diet again that we always try to do but never succeed :0) So bring on the mashed potatoes and gravy and lets all have a great meal.
