Bomb Attacks on Wedding Party in Iraq
A car bomb also went off in Baghdad as a U.S. patrol passed, killing 10. But in addition, two suicide bombers attacked a wedding caravan as it drove through a crowded market in a town northeast of Baghdad, killing at least 35 people and wounding 65 more. earlier in Baghdad, a bomb in a parked car exploded when a U.S. patrol went by, killing a U.S. soldier and at least nine Iraqis. The attack also wounded 26 Iraqis and two Americans. The attacked came amid heightened worries that al-Qaida in Iraq is regrouping.

Rockets Kill 5 Near Baghdad Airport
Rockets slammed into an Iraqi housing complex near the Baghdad international airport and a nearby U.S. military base on Monday, killing at least five people and wounding 16, including two U.S. soldiers, officials said. American troops acting on strong evidence arrested six Iraqi suspects in the vicinity of the apparent launching sites. The brazen attack followed a weekend in which U.S and Iraqi officials touted the security gains of a year old operation in Baghdad that included an influx of some 30,000 extra American troops.

US Forces Battle Baghdad Militia
At least 10 people have been killed in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad in clashes between US forces and militants in a mainly Shia district. The Shula area in northwest Baghdad is a stronghold of the Mehdi Army militia loyal to Shia cleric Moqtada Sadr. Baghdad doctors said women were among those killed in the fighting. And in Samarra, about 60 miles north of Baghdad, at least five people died when suspected al-Qaida fighters attacked several police stations.
