Spring has Sprung
What a wonderful day it is today. It is 80 degrees and all the snow is gone. Now the water is drying up in the ditches. The fields are drying so it won't be long and the farmers will be able to get out there and plant. We raked the leaves and junk off the flower bed and picked up all the papers that had blown into the yard. The tulips are up and will soon be blooming. We have some beautiful yellow peoni tulips that have huge blooms and several branches. I just love them. They are like sunshine blooming.

Sunshine and Snow
I could not believe my eyes when I went to the bank just now. Yesterday there was so much snow yet. We had lots of sunshine yesterday and this morning. It really did a job on melting the snow. We still have some big banks but you can actually see green grass now in places. I know it is about time for the tulips to come up but there is at least a foot of snow over them yet so it will be awhile. Have to watch because if they pop up, the rabbits eat them quickly. I have little flags I put out there that scare them away but you can't stick them in frozen ground.

Tulips and other Flowers
I forgot to look to see if our tulips are blooming. I was asked today and I didn't know. I have been too busy to look. I will have to get out there and check on them tomorrow as they had a bunch of buds on them a couple days ago. We have all kinds of beautiful yellow peony tulips that are just gorgeous.

Tulips
The tulips are starting to come thru. We put those little gas marker flags out and they flutter just enough to scare the rabbits away and they don't eat the tender shoots just coming out of the ground. Must taste like fresh salad to them. It has worked good for the last 3 or 4 years and the neighbors thought we had a gas line running along side our garage until we explained what they were for. It really works.
