O.J. Simpson Sentencing

Here we sit in front of the television set watching what is supposed to be the sentencing of O.J. Simpson and another man. They went into a room with guns and were convicted of it and now they are going to sentence them. But so far, the lawyers have come up with one thing after another. Happily, the judge threw out everything so far but it is taking hours to get to the actual sentence. My husband loves to take an afternoon nap but we are beginning to wonder if they are going to get this over with today, or is it going to drag on into tomorrow. I would hope not.

Well, they finally got to the sentencing and the judge was very thorough and made sure that everything was based on this case alone, and nothing in the past. The whole thing was on tape in a casino so they almost didn't need witnesses as the judge could watch the whole robbery go down. Simpson was sentenced to 15 years in the Nevada State Prison with possibility of parole in 5 years. Another judge there said no one gets parole at the first try or 5 years, probably not at 6 years, perhaps they will listen to him at 6 1/2 years but not then either. I believe he is 61 years old so he is going to spend the best of the rest of his life in prison. Justice was done today. The judge was right on and very well versed in what happened and the sentences.

O.J. Simpson Convicted

At last, as some would say, O.J. Simpson is going to get his just rewards. Not for murdering his wife and Ron Goldman but for armed robbery and kidnapping. The jury said they didn't need witnesses to convict O.J. but they could more on the video and other documented evidence. They felt they just couldn't rely on the witnesses testimonies. Simpson, who is 61 years old, will be sentenced in December and kept in jail until then. They had better keep him in jail or he will disappear faster than any magician's act. I cannot feel one bit sorry for him. I think it is about time some justice caught up with him. They had better not put him in with the general population of the state prison. Who knows what could happen? I wouldn't want to be in his shoes, would you?

O.J. Simpson Hits the News Again

This trial coming up is in the news almost every day now. Thursday an O.J. witness decided to take a plea deal and accuse Simpson in court after he said God had answered his prayers by telling him to do the right thing. Alexander said that O.J. said to just bring guns so they would know we mean business. He was the first one to admit to carrying a weapon into the Palace Station Casino hotel room. After he took a pounding cross examination, he said maybe he shouldn't have taken the deal and then he wouldn't have had to be badgered on the stand by Simpson's lawyer. Today we got another story from a witness that thought he probably shouldn't have taken the stand at all because his testimony would undermine the prosecution's case. There seems to be a lot of different stories popping up here and we're betting O.J. will slither out of this the same way he got out of murdering his wife.

O.J. Simpson Jailed

O.J. Simpson went back to jail where he spent several days before a judge heard allegations that he violated the terms of his bail in an armed robbery case in Las Vegas. Clark County District Attorney, David Roger alleged that in a November voice message, Simpson told his bail bondsman to contact co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart and express frustration about testimony given at the hearing where Simpson, Steward and a third man were ordered to stand trial. Simpson had been instructed by Las Vegas Justice of the Peace, Joe M. Bonaventure in September, not to have any contact with anyone involved in the case - not even by "carrier Pigeon"
