Jets Vote Favre as Offensive Captain

Brett Favre apparently has made quite an impression on his new teammates because the votes are in and Brett was voted one of the Jets' offensive captains. That's pretty good for only having been with them for a month. Before the Jets' first practice at Florham Park, New Jersey, Favre said he was honored. He said it made him a little uncomfortable to be voted in and he feels he will have to earn it. And I am sure he will do that when they open the regular season at Miami. You can't look at his past accomplishments. It is what he does from here on that counts.

Green Bay Packers Quarterback

The new Green Bay Packers quarterback took his place Monday. Aaron Rodgers is the new oneand he's ready to go even though Brett Favre is considering filing for reinstatement with the NFL and plans to report to camp this week. Rodgers said he felt it was just between the Brett and the organization and he plans to stay focused on what he can control. So far the General Manager has decided it would be best if Favre were to stay away from Green Bay for the time being. The Packers don't plan on letting Brett play for an NFC North rival. Therefore, they aren't going to trade him without getting value in return. I am sure we will hear lots more about this all.

Favre Throws No 421

Brett Favre is No. 1 - with a bullet. Favre broke Dan Marino's record for career touchdown passes on Sunday, zipping No 421 to Greg Jennings in the first quarter of Green Bay's 23-16 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. He hit Jennings on a 16 yard slant for the score with 4:56 left in the quarter and like most of his touchdown throws through his brilliant 17 year career, this one had plenty of steam on it. He sprinted to the end zone, hoisted Jennings on his left shoulder and joined in hugs with his teammates on the sideline as thousands of Packers fans who made the trip from Wisconsin to Minneapolis, cheered loudly.
