Cold Weather

The days are changing fast. We have had lots of high winds that really took all the leaves off the trees very quickly. The nights are down to freezing and today the furnace had to run to keep it at least 69 in the house. The sun is out but it isn't warm. The flowers have pretty much frozen off and we know it won't be long and the snow will be falling. I didn't used to mind it because it seemed you could always dress plenty warm but in summer you never dress cool enough. But I guess as I age, I hate to see winter come. My husband always hated winter and this year he won't have to put up with it. I know it is much better in Heaven.

Autumn Leaves

Like the song says, the Autumn leaves are falling and falling and falling. My husband went out and mulched all the leaves on the lawn and it looked so nice. The very next day we got high winds and the lawn was covered again worse than ever. A couple days ago our next door neighbor went out and mulched their leaves. I told my husband to forget about even thinking about mulching ours again and today the leaves are blowing everywhere again. He's decided he's done with the lawn mower till Spring when the grass grows long enough to mow.
